Broken windows (broken insulation seals).
Debris in crawl space.
Dry rot or deteriorated wood.
Earth to wood contact around exterior of home.
Overgrown shrubbery.
Electrical not in working condition or up to current code.
Gutters and downspouts blocked or missing.
Inadequate crawl space or attic ventilation.
Less than four feet of waterproof material around tub enclosures (tile, formica, etc.).
Peeling or missing paint.
Plumbing not in working condition.
Water damage inside home.
A homeowner may be asked to:
Paint the exterior and interior if in bad condition.
Have septic tank pumped and file report with the county jurisdiction.
Remove unused oil tanks or fill with cement-slurry or polyurethane foam.
